Could The DanceSocks Have Saved Richard Simmons Knees?

In short, yes.  Unfortunately, The DanceSocks weren't available to the public until 2011.  Significantly after the height of Richard Simmons exercise program 'Sweatin' to The Oldies'.

As many people know, Simmons was one of Hollywood’s biggest fitness stars for more than three decades before he suddenly disappeared from the public eye in 2014.

Interest in Simmons has been reignited, following the release of the new doc “TMZ Investigates: What Really Happened to Richard Simmons.”

The special, streaming on Fox and Hulu, claims that problems with the star’s knees were behind his sudden shunning of the spotlight.

There are many blogs and articles about the right footwear for dance and dance fitness. However, after our test at USC Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Research Lab in Los Angeles, we found all sneakers, including dance sneakers, provided the same strain to ankles, knees and hips. There was no difference in grip from a typical running shoe.  The DanceSocks reduce strain to joints, improve the range of motion of all sneakers to the level of a dance shoe.  Proving our claim, "The DanceSocks turn sneakers into dance shoes."

Richard Simmons is a fitness pioneer and he helped a lot of people discover the joy of fitness through dancing.  We wish he was still out there doing his thing!
